Pet owners are always being told to have their pets vaccinated for Rabies. However, you seldom here of animals contracting this deadly virus. Rabies is a virus spread from animals to other animals by bite wounds. It is almost always fatal. Fortunately, it is very easy to prevent this deadly infection by vaccinations. The challenge is protecting wildlife as it is very difficult to vaccinate the hundreds of thousands of wild animals who live around us.

The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) in Atlanta reported that an 8-year-old girl contracted rabies from feral cats but fortunately survived.

A North Georgia farmer was recently attacked by a 900-pound rabid cow. He survived the attack but has to undergo Rabies shots.
